Ali's favourite Summertime Smoothies

  • Ali

I just love a plant based smoothie for breakfast or lunch. They fill me up, satisfy my hunger for hours and are packed with plant based protein, vitamins, minerals and probiotics.

For me a smoothie used to be fruit and veggies alone but I was always starving a couple of hours later. Then I discovered Arbonne Protein powder and i've never looked back. I use a combination of their flavoured protein, it comes in vanilla and chocolate, and their protein boost -  flavourless plant protein which you can add to anything hot or cold. It's even great mixed into a vegtarian chilli to bosst your protein intake.

Here are my favourite summer time recipes:

Berry Spinach Smoothie

I love to add berries and greens to a smoothie – you can’t taste the greens but you know they are there and doing you good. Believe me adding a bit of greens won’t change the look too dramatically so you can sneak it into the kids smoothies too!

 Ingredients

  • 2 scoops Arbonne Essentials Vanilla Protein Shake
  • 1 scoop Arbonne fibre boost
  • ¼ avocado
  • ½ cup strawberries and blueberries - I love using fresh at his time of year but you can use frozen
  • Handful fresh or frozen spinach (optional)
  • 1 ½ cups filtered water or almond milk
  • Cinnamon, optional

Directions

  1. Pour Arbonne Essentials Vanilla Protein Shake Mix into a blender
  2. Add Arbonne Essentials Daily Fiber Boost
  3. Add strawberries, basil leaves, avocado and lemon juice
  4. Pour in water or Almond Milk and add ice cubes
  5. Blend and enjoy!

Strawberry, Basil and Lemon Smoothie

The addition of basil to this strawberry smoothie just lifts it to the next level. I love using fresh basil when it's home grown and full of flavour but go easy on it, it can over power if you add too much.

Ingredients

  • 2 scoops Arbonne Essentials Vanilla Protein Shake Mix
  • 1/2 scoop Arbonne Essentials Daily Fiber Boost
  • 5 small strawberries (or 3 large strawberries, quartered)
  • 6 basil leaves
  • Juice from a large lemon
  • 8270ml filtered water or unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 5 ice cubes

Directions

  1. Pour Arbonne Essentials Vanilla Protein Shake Mix into a blender
  2. Add Arbonne Essentials Daily Fiber Boost
  3. Add strawberries, basil leaves and lemon juice
  4. Pour in water or Almond Milk and add ice cubes
  5. Blend and enjoy!

Raspberry Rose Petal Smoothie

I discovered this quite by chance when i left the bottle of Roses Petea Flower Water out after making a favourite cauliflower cous cous which i'd been experimenting with. I picked it up to put it away as I aws thinking of what to add to my morning smoothie and the idea of adding a drop or two came to me. I find 1 teaspoon is sufficent to give it a slighly flowery taste without it over powering the raspberries but experiment and let me know what you love most.

Ingredients

  • 2 scoops Arbonne Essentials Vanilla Protein Shake Mix
  • 1/2 scoop Arbonne Essentials Daily Fiber Boost
  • 1/2 cur fesh or frozen rspberries
  • 1 teaspoon Rose Petal Flower Water
  • 270ml filtered water
  • 5 ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Pour Arbonne Essentials Vanilla Protein Shake Mix into a blender
  2. Add Arbonne Essentials Daily Fiber Boost
  3. Add raspberries and rose petal flower water
  4. Pour in filtered water and add ice cubes
  5. Blend and enjoy!
