One simple way to boost your brain health

Green Protein Smoothie
  • Ali

I'm always explaining that no one ever became less healthy by eating one more vegetable a day, or better still one more vegetable at every meal! A 2017 study from Rush University involving 1,000 adults came to the same some stunning conclusions.

Researchers found that people who ate just one serving of leafy greens per day appeared 11 years younger in terms of their cognitive health when compared with those who rarely or never consumed green leafy vegetables.

Who knew food like spinachkale and spring greens could work such magic! Well obviously I did! and if you've been reading my blog a while you did too, so let's put this into action. How many different fruits and vegetbles can you eat in a week? My aim is always to eat 30 different variesties - are you anywhere close?

Now if you are someone who struggles with the idea of eating one portion of greens a day, consider this smoothie below:

Green Goddess Smoothie

500 ml water

2 scoops Vanilla Protein Shake Powder (you know my favourite is the vitamin enriched one Arbonne do)

550g spinach (washed)

1 stalk celery

½ cucumber

60 ml fresh lemon juice

½ avocado or 1 tbsp. sunflower or nut butter

Pinch of fresh basil

Ice to thicken

Directions

Add all ingredients to your blender, blitz and enjoy.
