One simple way to boost your brain health

I'm always explaining that no one ever became less healthy by eating one more vegetable a day, or better still one more vegetable at every meal! A 2017 study from Rush University involving 1,000 adults came to the same some stunning conclusions. Researchers found that people who ate just one serving of leafy greens per day appeared 11 years younger in terms of their cognitive health when compared with those who rarely or never consumed green leafy vegetables. Who knew food like spinach, kale and spring greens could work such magic! Well obviously I did! and if you've been reading my blog a

Whole Roast Cauliflower With Warm Hummus

I picked up two perfectly sized single serving cauliflowers from Second Helpings the food waste charity in Stamford, Lincolnshire that I love to support. Their mission is to reduce the amount of food waste that goes into landfill and they have been a God send to vulnerable and low income families since the start of lock down as for a small donation you can pick up fresh fruit and vegetables plus staples that will keep you going. Such charities are springing up all over the country so look out for one near you and support their work, reducing food waste going into landfill has got to be a cause

Chocolate Cake for National Chocolate Cake Day 2021

I'm celebrating National Chocolate Day with a chcolate and raspberry cake recipe. So many times we think of cake as a treat when in fact it is depleting us. Often the gluten and sugar in it is actaully not supporting us, our health or our immune system so I love creating recipes that are gluten, dairy and refined sugar free. This recipe is so healthy yet comes out so light and airy and tastes amazing. I love combining these two ingrdients and this feels like a real treat and would even double up as a dessert for a special ocasion - remember those when we used to have dinner parties and real

When you’re home alone with the kids and need food that’s nutritious, filling, cheap and easy to prepare this is it. Get the kids to put on their aprns at 5pm this Friday 3rd April and help make tea. This great ‘baked bean’ dish is so versatile. Don’t have butter beans? Use any other tinned or dried beans, which you’ve pre-cooked, or chickpeas. You could even try it with lentils. Add any greens you have wilting at the bottom of the fridge, spring greens, spinach, kale, sprouts. The kids will love the subtle but sweetness which comes from honey and cinnamon. Innocent Marble Cake Millionaire Shortbread

It’s an amazing feeling when you get a really good millionaire shortbread, and this is one of those recipes that induces that feeling. I’ve made the most of the limited edition plant based protein that Arbonne launched as a special flavour in 2019. You could substitute with other proteins but I honestly think this gives an amazing flavour to the base, and is delicious in a shake too. Make sure you cut them into small squares as it’s totally indulgent, but oh so good. Ingredients For the shortbread base 220g ground almonds 150g ground cashews 80g 4 scoops Arbonne Marble Cake protein powder –
