Journaling Prompts for the March Full Moon

how to use the energy of the march full moon
  • Ali

This year, March's full Moon on March 18 occurs before the spring equinox which takes place on March 20, thus making the March Full Moon what is known as a Lenten Moon . It falls in what is traditionally known in the Christian calendar as Lent.

April's full Moon (April 16, 2022) will be the first full Moon to occur after the spring equinox , and will therefore determine the date of Easter this year and means Easter will feel pretty late.

The Worm Moon

March’s full Moon goes by the name Worm Moon, which was originally thought to refer to the earthworms that appear as the soil warms up in spring. This invites Robins, one of my favourite birds and one that makes a regular appearance on my bird feeder, and other birds to feed—a true sign of spring!

We are now in the last month of the Western astrological calendar,  Pisces season is a time of closure, one that's been deceptively pegged as compassionate and spiritual, the opposite of warmongering. Let’s pray that this aspect of Pisces springs forth bringing an end to conflict around the world. Among Piscean traits is artistry, imagination, and deep empathy meaning that now is a great time to tap into your highest vibration and let your heart sing.

Pisces is a mutable sign meaning that in the northern hemisphere, the season of Pisces happens when winter is turning to spring and everything is melting, making way for new life. This mutability means that you may have felt the pull to put on your cloak of adaptability and focus on areas that you have been holding yourself back and in which you are ready for change. Think of the ocean and how no two waves are ever the same, the shifting of the ocean and the pull of the tidy. The ocean is deep, sublime, and filled with wild creatures and if we let our imaginations flow perhaps we’ll see that we are too.

Pisces is the believer of the zodiac where as Pisces's opposite sign is Virgo, the skeptical editor of the zodiac. Together, these two signs are in constant conversation about expansion and contraction, faith and skepticism. They are two sides of the same mutable coin which makes this full moon in Virgo extra special. .

The Virgo Full Moon

This Virgo Full Moon may inspire a feeling of deep healing in you. it is blessed with a sharp eye that can see what doesn’t fit, what doesn’t belong, what needs to be moved, what needs to be let go.

This full moon is the perfect time to reflect on yourself and how far you have come not just since the beginning of the calendar year but since this time last year. Check in with yourself to see what you need to adapt.

Virgo is the natural medicine woman, and all of us, regardless of our sign, can tap into the healing power of nature and our own inner potential. The Virgo energies of this Full Moon remind us that our strength and inner knowing comes when we are connected to our higher self, and acting in accordance with our own inner divinity. Journaling prompts to support you under the full moon

  • Where do I hold myself back feeling unworthy of my drams or visions?
  • What three things can I do to accept myself as I am right now?
  • What expectations of myself do I need to release to flow with life more?
  • Is there any part of me that feels unlovable? Where does this manifest itself?
  • What blocks need to be shifted in my life, relationships, career or beliefs?
  • What are three things I can do this week to remind myself that I am worthy of my dreams and lovable I just as I am -  imperfections and all?

Take your time journaling on these questions. Spend the next week reviewing and editing them as the moon continues to wane. Listen deeply and allow the answers to come to you from within instead of trying to create them. Take time to acknowledge your successes.
