As we clebrate the arrival of the New Moon in Sept it's a good time to set an intention to release and let go.
A new moon happens once a month when the moon and the sun conjoin in the sky, setting off a new cycle of light. This new moon is initially invisible to us on Earth, then it slowly appears as a very thin crescent of light – it’s magical and speaks to us if we take a moment to stand and enjoy it presence. While the energy of a new moon lasts for about three days before and after the lunation, the moon is technically only new for a moment—when the sun and the moon are directly aligned in the sky. I love this as even as we clebrate it's newness it is ageing!
The new moon is a time to set intentions and launch new projects. Since new moons happen once a month and signify the beginning of a cycle, you can think of them as a cosmic reset. The new moon is an ideal time to set intentions and goals that you'll develop as the moon waxes toward fullness. Connecting to these lunar energies can provide grounding and a sense of direction. I certainly use it like this, and while I can set intentions at any point in the calendar a new moon is a truly signifiant time for me.
Every new moon falls under an astrological sign and each sign carries different energies and themes, and we can use this information to connect us with the cosmos. The Sept 2021 new moon falls in Virgo and some of the keywords associated with Virgo are: Earth, goddess, harvest, sorting out what's necessary from what's not. You may feel even more drawn to nature, eating fresh local produce or Marie Kondoing your home or office environment or even separating from friends who you feel are no longer holding space for your higher good.
My Friend and numerology mentor Samantha Sutherland adds further weight to this explaining the numerological significance of this new moon. "September's New Moon is rebirthed on a day vibrating as 3, a day for personal truth, creativity and expression. In its own right the day is also a 7, an energy of knowledge, intuition and connection.
The moon's birth occurs at a time resonating as 1:6 & 7 (0+1:5+1=1:6=7) adding an extra layer of love and spiritual connection.
New Moon's are monthly opportunities to set intentions and call in change to your life. September's 5 vibration embraces change so make the most of this new moon's offering.
Work with your intuition to guide you in setting your intentions, especially where calling in change. As part of your New Moon ritual add in a self care element to open up your energy to working with the moon."
My invitation to you
So I invite you to let go of what is no longer needed, shedding past worries, hurts and fears (even if they aren’t yours) and use this new moon energy to help you to address what is not serving you. This is a great time to set intentions, goals and manifest desires for the month ahead too. Be clear on what your dream life looks like and step into action to make that life a reality.
If you've created your own new moon ceremony or joined my cacao cermeony then you may want to start a regular journaling practice to help your manifesting.
Use these new moon journal prompts to help you visualise your future and manifest all that you desire.
It’s good to set up a dedicated space in which you can meditate or journal regularly – or perhaps you like to do this in a special place in nature. You may want to create a specific space with an alter to set a candle and special items on. I view an alter as a prayer made visible so it’s a great place to put a picture of what you want to manifest or an object that represents that manifestation. Retreat into this space and reconnect with who you truly are – find your inner voice.
Now is the time to:
- Present your ideas to the universe
- Dream big
- Create actions that will lead towards your goals
- Think about how you’d like the next month, or quarter year, to look
- Release energetic ties that stand in your way
Some Journal Prompts you may want to use are:
- What emotions and thought patterns do I want to release
- What limiting beliefs do I want to let go of
- What practices can I start to cultivate a create a beautiful inner life for myself
- What dreams and desires have been placed in my heart
- What emotions do I feel when I imagine these dreams and this dream life coming true
Describe your dream life. Use as much detail as possible. What does it feel like? What does it look like? Who is there with you?
Use all your senses to map out your perfect day? Begin to live it in your mind so you can manifest it in your life.
Write down an affirmation confirming your dream life is within reach – it may sound something like this….
"I reclaim my power and embrace new beginnings that lead to …....”
“I forgive myself for the past and let go of …... I am Embracing all the good that is ahead.”
“I am open to all that serves my soul purpose including……”
These journal questions and affirmations are a great start for your manifestation journal. If you’re about to embark on a cacao dieta (speak to me if you’re unsure what this means) journaling after drinking your cacao is a great way to open your heart and allow inspiration to flow.
Make this a regular practice and watch your energy and feelings start to shift. And when this shift starts to happen watch your reality match up.
